Old Settlers Park: The History

Located on the southeast shore of Glen Lake in Round Rock, Texas, Old Settlers Park is one of the largest parks in the city. With a total area of 645 acres, it is a popular destination for recreation and picnics. 

In 1892, the park was built originally as a picnic area. It has a chapel built in 1925 and is well-maintained by the Glen Lake Woman’s Club. 

Old Settlers Park is also home to the Ferndale Heritage Society, which is a nonprofit group that organizes many events. These include the Ferndale Community Celebration. The event features musical entertainment, food, and a beer garden.

It also provides a great place for families to gather. Its six sports complexes offer limitless opportunities to enjoy recreational activities.

During the summer, Old Settlers Park also hosts a variety of sports tournaments. In addition, the park hosts concerts of all genres. The park is also home to Rock’N River Water Park. The water park features a 100-acre lake, as well as three miles of paved trails that connect the park’s key features, and a world-class disc golf course. This water park is located within the park and offers a variety of water-related activities for the whole family. The park also hosts several tournaments each year. It also offers hiking, biking, and running trails. 

The park also hosts a family movie The Rise of the Guardians and a Flashlight Egg Hunt. There are also several mini-photo sessions available for $7. 

The park also hosts a pumpkin festival, which is a collaboration with the Old Settlers Association of Williamson County. The festival offers games for all ages and includes a pumpkin patch, funnel cakes, and a petting zoo. The event is free for kids three and up, and $5 for adults. It’s also free for seniors, teachers, and first responders. The event benefits the Texas Red Cross.
